We Live it With Passion

At El Gauchito, in Corona, Queens, Marcelo Civelli knows that fútbol is never just fútbol.

El Gauchito is more than a restaurant. It's a butcher shop, a neighborhood gathering place, and the place you’ll find just about anything connected to Argentina's national team (jerseys, flags) and memories of home.

Marcelo runs the family business alongside his sister, carrying forward what their father built after leaving Argentina in the 1960s in search of greater economic opportunity during difficult times back home. Decades later, El Gauchito has become a piece of Argentina rooted in Queens.

For every Argentina match, Marcelo opens the doors to a place already filled with stories. El Gauchito becomes a living room. The block becomes a stadium. Friends become family. And for each game, Queens feels a lot like home.
