Siempre Unidos

Take the R Train to 36 Street in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Walk down 5th Avenue and you’ll hear Latin America calling. Mexicans. Ecuadorians. Colombians. Dominicans. Argentinians, Hondurans. Salvadorans. Peruvians. Everyone’s here.

On game day, some came for Mexico. Some came for fútbol. Most came for each other. After the game, maybe dinner three avenues over in Brooklyn’s Chinatown.

That’s Sunset Park where borders don’t matter much. And during the World Cup the neighborhood becomes one big watch party where we all celebrate like cousins.

That’s the magic of football. It brings us together! Siempre unidos.
